CALIFORNIA, U.S. - As Apple’s six-month confidentiality clause with the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) came to an end, it was learnt that the company has scrapped plans to unveil a variant of the iPhone X just prior to launch.

According to newly published papers by the FCC, Apple had filed paperwork for a gold edition to the FCC in September.

And while the papers show that Apple pulled out this launch, it still isn’t clear why the company chose to do so.

Some experts suggested that production issues, which hit the iPhone X hard prior to launch, probably played a factor.

Further, some pointed out that Apple was unlikely to take a risk with any durability issues after complaints with the Jet Black editions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
